'We can only hope' - Rangers fans want senior man exit after major development at English club
Rangers fans have been reacting on Twitter after Reading sacked manager Jaap Stam on Wednesday, with many making it clear that they want Graeme Murty to return to the Madejski.
The English Championship club announced on their official Twitter account on Wednesday that Stam had left his role at the club, opening up the possibility for Murty to exit Ibrox before the end of the season.
Murty is only in charge of Rangers until the end of the season and after two defeats on the bounce to Celtic and Kilmarnock, fans have started to suggest that the former Under-20s boss is not good enough to get the job on a long-term basis.
After Wednesday's major development at Reading, fans have taken to Twitter to suggest that they want Murty to quit Ibrox and return to the Madesjki.
One fan claimed that he can "only hope" that the 43-year-old leaves Govan.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Murty has done a good job in charge of Rangers and managed to steady a ship that looked close to imploding under Pedro Caixinha's reign.
There was even talk of a title race two weeks ago before losing to Celtic, which certainly means that there has been massive progress under his charge.
