Rangers icon Derek Ferguson has said that hat-trick hero Josh Windass reminds him of the legendary Ian Durrant.
Windass scored the second hat-trick of his career on Sunday in the 5-3 win over Hamilton in the Premiership.
He's had his fair share of criticism from the fans but has impressed this season with 15 goals in 31 appearances, including nine in his last five games.
And it led Ferguson to compare him to one of Rangers' all-time greats, Durrant.
Talking in the Scottish Sun Ferguson said, "Josh Windass reminded me of a young Ian Durrant. Durranty used to play that type of role.
"Windass made some great runs from the middle of the park, intelligent runs, and he timed them ever so well.
“And what he’s got is an end product, with his goals."
Durrant made a giant 347 appearances for Rangers and scored 45 goals until he retired in 1998.
Windass has made 58 appearances so far, scoring 16 goals and adding 13 assists.
He joined on a free transfer from Accrington Stanley in the summer of 2016.
Rangers play Hearts next on Saturday in the Premiership, when they'll get the chance to cut the lead at the top of the league to just six points from bitter rivals Celtic.
Rangers fans will be hoping that Windass can continue his rich vein of form at Ibrox in the 3pm kick-off.
