Rangers fans were overjoyed with Oliver Antman's performance in his debut for the club against Viktoria Plzen.

The Bears finished last season scoring 32 fewer goals than Celtic as the Hoops cruised to a fourth consecutive Premiership title.

Goal-scoring was not the only issue that plagued Rangers last season, as Russell Martin's strike force boasts the likes of Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane, who are wanted by clubs across Europe.

A lot of the Gers' issues seemed to stem from the lack of chance creation coming from either the midfield, or the wings.

Nico Raskin was dropped for the win over Plzen, but the Belgian midfielder was the only Rangers player to achieve double-digit assists last term.

Second to him was James Tavernier, the club's long-serving right-back, but a player who is reaching the end of his time at Ibrox.

Rangers solve wide issues with summer signings

The French winger has been an instant success on the left, scoring twice against Plzen, taking his tally to four goals from four games for the Bears.

But the right-wing still needed an addition, particularly after Vaclav Cerny returned to Wolfsburg following the end of his loan at Ibrox.

As a consequence, Rangers signed Antman from Go Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands, and the Finland international made an immediate impact on his debut.

Oliver Antman stuns on Rangers debut

Following a disappointing draw against Motherwell, Martin called for his players to show less ego, and show more commitment.

Heeding the advice from his new boss, Antman started running and seemed to never stop, tearing Plzen's defence apart.

The Finnish winger earned a penalty in the first-half, before picking out Gassama with a pinpoint cross in the second-half for the Frenchman to nod home to make it 3-0.

Antman's performance stunned Rangers fans, with one calling him and Gassama the "bargains of the summer", as another called the winger "a breath of fresh air".
