Exclusive: Stoke City slap 'not for sale' on Rangers target Campbell
Stoke City have slapped a "not for sale" sign on Rangers striker target Tyrese Campbell, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
The Light Blues were among multiple clubs keen on prising the forward, 20, from the Championship big hitters earlier this year.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Stoke are not willing to cash in Campbell next month amid growing interest from the Scottish giants as well as Premier League clubs.
Football Insider columnist Kevin Campbell, father of Tyrese, revealed that Rangers "held talks" about signing his son in January when he had just six months left on his contract.
But the prolific youngster was persuaded to stay on at the Bet365 Stadium by Michael O'Neill and signed a new four-and-a-half year deal at the end of January.
Rangers have continued to keep tabs on the English forward, who can spearhead the attack or play out wide in a three-man attack.
The left-footed forward has had an eyecatching campaign so far for Stoke, scoring six goals and providing six assists from his 16 Championship matches this season.
Campbell started last night's 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City and helped set up his team's goal.
But there will be concern among O'Neill and his staff after the young forward limped off in the second half with what the manager said was a knee injury.
