Rangers have submitted a new Tyrese Campbell offer after indications he is open to a blockbuster move to Glasgow, Football Insider has learned.
The Stoke City striker, 20, is firmly on the radar of the Light Blues as they look to beat multiple Premier League clubs as well as bitter rivals Celtic to his signature.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Rangers are working to tie Campbell down to a pre-contract agreement and have offered him an improved deal in recent days.
This comes after Football Insider revealed last week the strong interest from Steven Gerrard and the recruitment team last week in trying to land the in-form forward.
Rangers would be keen on signing the England Under-20 forward this month or in the summer, but a transfer at the end of the campaign is seen as more likely.
Campbell – the son of ex-Everton striker Kevin Campbell – is assessing interest from all his suitors before deciding where his future lies.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Wolves, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace have joined the hunt to sign the versatile forward after Celtic and Rangers had already made clear their interest in signing him.
Stoke have also not given up hope of securing Campbell to a new deal to replace his existing one, which expires at the end of the season.
The rising star has been starting regularly for the Potters of late after being on the fringes of their team for much of the opening half of the campaign.
He led the front line in last night’s 1-0 win over West Brom, scoring the game’s only goal before limping off with a hamstring injury midway through the first half.
In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that Euro mega club have set their sights on Ibrox star and have a big transfer plan for this week.
