Ralf Rangnick's tenure at Man United will be defined by his handling of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba, according to Paul Robinson.

The former Premier League goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, fears Rangnick, 63, will struggle to manage a dressing room full of "world-class stars".

On Monday (29 November), United confirmed the appointment of Rangnick as interim manager until the end of the season.

The ex-Schalke and RB Leipzig boss takes over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who was sacked earlier this month.

Solskjaer's failure to manage the Old Trafford dressing room appeared central to his downfall.

When asked for his thoughts on the task in hand for Rangnick, Robinson told Football Insider: "I don't understand why they've employed an interim manager again.

"Why have they done it? This is the biggest club in the world we're talking about.

"Rangnick has developed and improved teams but he has never had a dressing room full of world-class stars before.

"When you look at the players at Manchester United. It is going to be a challenge for Rangnick to get them pressing from the front.

Man United

"The key will be how he handles Pogba, Ronaldo, Cavani and Fernandes. What team is he going to pick?

"It is going to be very interesting to see how his tenures of Man United goes."
