Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has rejected a loan move to Tottenham as he doesn't want to play for the club, according to a reliable journalist.

Mohamed Bouhafsi‏, who works for French outlet RMC Sport, claims that Tottenham had made a loan offer for the player to Chelsea.

However, he said that this was rejected outright by Batshuayi who it is said did not want to join Tottenham. The news was reported on his official Twitter page on Tuesday afternoon.

The tweet translates: "Tottenham made an offer to Chelsea to take Michy Batshuayi on loan. This was refused as the player does not want to join Spurs." This comes after a BBC journalist claimed that Tottenham had held talks over a late swap deal for

Fernando Llorente and Michy Batshuayi.

BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein claimed on his

on Monday night a complicated transfer merry-go-round had culminated in the last-gasp talks but that nothing had come of them.

Football Insider verdict:

Before Tottenham fans get too outraged by this, it makes total sense. Batshuayi is a young striker who has designs on the World CUp with Belgium. He'll be perfectly aware how much his predecessor at Spurs, Fernando Llorente, got to play and would surely be wondering why he would want to swap one Premier League bench for another. He wouldn't be the number one striker with Harry Kane at the club and he wouldn't be guaranteed game time. He will want a move somewhere but Tottenham isn't the right club.
