Former Roma boss Rudi Garcia is being lined up for a sensational return to the game as West Ham manager, according to a report.

The Express claims that Garcia is one of the names on a shortlist as patience runs thin with current Hammers manager Slaven Bilic.

Garcia was sacked as Roma manager in January after a string of poor results, despite working wonders at the club since taking over in 2013.

He steered the club to consecutive second-placed finishes in his first two campaigns.

It is claimed that Garcia turned down a move to Southampton in the summer, but could be in line to take over at the Olympic Stadium if Bilic can't turn things round quickly.

Despite a successful 2015/16 season, Bilic has struggled to keep the momentum going after the Hammers moved to their new stadium.

They went out of the Europa League to Romanian side Astra Giurgiu, and are currently languishing in the relegation zone in the Premier League after just one win in seven games.

The report claims that ex-Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is also in the frame for the Hammers job.
