Andre Villas-Boas is plotting a move for Marseille to re-sign Georges-Kevin Nkoudou as he closes in on a return to management, Football Insider can reveal.

The Portugese, 41, is set to be appointed the new manager of the Ligue 1 club as a replacement for Rudi Garcia after holding talks this week.

A French source has told Football Insider that Villas-Boas wants to sign winger NKoudou as he looks to make an early raid on former club Tottenham at his new employers.

Spurs landed the winger, 24, from Marseille in the summer of 2016 in a deal worth around £10million.

NKoudou has been on loan at Monaco in the second half of this season but has yet to rediscover the form that took him to north London after scoring 10 goals in 41 matches in 2015-16.

Villas-Boas has been out of work since leaving the Chinese club Shanghai SIPG in Nov 2017 after which he announced he was taking an extended break from football.

The Portugese was sacked by English giants Chelsea, where he lasted less than a season in 2011-12, and Tottenham, where he spent 18 months before getting the axe in December 2013.
