Brendan Rodgers "would walk down to London" if he was offered the Tottenham job.

That is according to former White Hart Lane number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the possibility of the 48-year-old succeeding Jose Mourinho in north London.

The Lilywhites confirmed on Monday morning that Mourinho and his staff had been “relived of their duties" following a run which yielded just one win in six.

Tottenham

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is second favourite to be appointed the club's next manager, with RB Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann the early frontrunner.

Rodgers is enjoying a highly successful campaign this year, with the Foxes third in the Premier League and through to the FA Cup final.

When asked by Football Insider's Dylan Childs if Rodgers would likely take the Spurs if offered, Robinson said:

"A lot of managers would walk down to London if they were offered the Spurs job and I think Rodgers is one of them.

"Tottenham are a bigger club than Leicester. You look where they are in the league and Leicester fans would argue differently. But when you look at the stadium and the squad at Spurs...

"Yes, Leicester have won the Premier League but they do not have the stature and the history of Spurs. There is no comparison.

"If Brendan Rodgers gets offered the job I am sure he would take it. Leicester and Tottenham, there is no competition."
