Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are plotting swoops to sign Cardiff winger Kadeem Harris on a free transfer, Football Insider understands.

Harris is a free agent after it was announced last week that he is being released by Neil Warnock's side upon the expiration of his contract at the end of this month.

A source with knowledge of the 25-year-old's situation has told Football Insider that a number of clubs have been alerted to Harris' availability on a free transfer this summer, with Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday both leading the hunt to sign him.

The high profile Championship duo have both made signing new wingers one of their top priorities this summer and Harris figures highly on their wanted lists.

The attacker made 15 appearances in all competitions last season for Cardiff, scoring one goal - the winner against Fulham last October.

Harris boasts good experience in the Championship having spent the last seven years at Cardiff and his free agent status helps him fit the bill for both Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday

In other Sheffield Wednesday news, it can be REVEALED that the club have opened talks to sign an attacking player from Premier League big hitters.
