Everton are convinced there will be some A-list bargains to be had in the summer transfer market, Football Insider has learned.

The Merseysiders are one of a select number of European clubs ready to spend big in the wake of the global pandemic.

An Everton source has told Football Insider the club believe they can land some top-quality stars at prices far lower than previous windows.

This site revealed on Monday (22nd March) that Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is a top target for Carlo Ancelotti.

He was valued last summer by Napoli at £89million but his price is set to tumble this summer, when he enters the final two years of his contract.

The source explained that Everton boss Ancelotti is looking closely at Serie A, a league he knows inside out and where his connections are impeccable.

With even leading clubs like Inter Milan being hit financially and facing the prospect of selling top stars, the Merseysiders could profit.

They are expected to benefit once again from the generosity of owner Farhad Moshiri.

Moshiri has already made it clear to Ancelotti he will have rein to spend big in the main summer market.

A big priority is building a top-class team ahead of the move to the new stadium.
