Sources: Burnley make move for West Brom starlet Williams after big development
Burnley have made an approach for West Brom youngster Harry Williams, Football Insider has learned.
This site revealed on Wednesday (24th March) that the centre-back, 18, has been told to find a new club by the Baggies.
A Burnley source has told Football Insider the club have been in contact with Williams' camp over a potential deal that would see him head to a new Premier League club.
Intriguingly, the defender's last appearance for the Albion Under-23s came against Burnley in January.
His side lost the Premier League 2 match 3-1 that day at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.
It now appears that will be the last time Williams wears the West Brom jersey in a match at any level.
The 6ft 3in defender was told by the relegation strugglers on Wednesday he is being released at the end of the season.
Burnley have pounced after being impressed by the youngster's pace and aerial ability, as well as an attitude that has impressed sources.
Both clubs are in division 2 of Premier League 2, which means they don't play the likes of Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Burnley are third, while West Brom are rock bottom, which has parallels with their senior side.
Williams joined the Baggies in 2018 on a scholarship deal.
The young Englishman is out of contract in the summer and will leave after three years.
The teenager has yet to make his senior West Brom debut but has played for the club in the EFL Trophy as well as being a regular for their youth teams.
He has played four times for the Under-23s this season, with his last outing coming against Burnley in January.
