West Ham and Everton have joined Aston Villa in the race for Burnley striker Chris Wood, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that West Ham and Everton are also keen on the 29-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.

Hammers boss David Moyes is believed to be a big admirer of Wood's physicality, finishing and ability to spearhead the attack.

Burnley will demand at least £30million for their star striker and that fee could potentially rise to £40million if a bidding war ensues.

Wood was one of the Clarets' star performers in the 2020-21 campaign and contributed 12 goals and three assists in 33 league appearances.

It means he has reached double figures in his last four consecutive Premier League seasons.

Signed from Leeds United for a club-record £17million fee, Wood has scored 50 goals in 144 career appearances for Sean Dyche's side.

He has two years remaining on his contract at Turf Moor having last put pen to paper on a contract extension in November 2019.

West Ham are in the market for a centre-forward after club-record signing Sebastien Haller was sold to Ajax in January.

Moyes recognises that he needs to add depth to his squad this summer with the added pressure of Europa League football next season.
