Frank Lampard has no interest in becoming the new Bournemouth manager, Football Insider understands.

The Sun linked the former Chelsea manager with the vacant post today following the sacking of Jason Tindall.

But a source with knowledge of Lampard's situation told Football Insider he does not want to be in the running to take over at the Vitality Stadium.

He is keen to assess his options before returning to management after leaving Chelsea last month.

Bournemouth sacked Tindall after six months in charge following a run of just one win in their last eight Championship games.

Coach Jonathan Woodgate will take temporary charge but the club confirmed they want to appoint a permanent replacement "as swiftly as possible".

The Cherries are eyeing an immediate return to the Premier League and currently sit in the final play-off position, eight points off the automatic promotion places.

Lampard began his managerial career in the Championship with Derby County and he led the Rams to the play-off final in his only season in charge.

The 42-year-old then took the reins at his former club Chelsea in the summer of 2019.

The former England international led the Blues to a top-four finish and an FA Cup final in his only full season at Stamford Bridge.

He left the club last month following a run of just two wins in eight matches with Chelsea ninth in the Premier League.

Thomas Tuchel replaced Lampard at Stamford Bridge and has enjoyed an unbeaten start to life in west London.
