Cristian Gamboa has started clearing out his Celtic locker as he looks for a new club this summer, Football Insider understands.

A Hoops source has told Football Insider that the right-back, 29, is heading out of Parkhead ahead of his contract expiring next month.

He started removing his belongings from the club's Lennoxtown headquarters yesterday (Wednesday) as he bids farewell to the club he joined from West Brom in the summer of 2016.

The right-back, 29, has not played for the Hoops since mid-December and last featured in a matchday squad as an unused substitute in the Scottish League Cup final on 12 February.

He is not expected to play any part in Saturday's Scottish Cup final against Hearts at Hampden as Celtic look to secure a remarkable and unprecedented third consecutive treble.

Gamboa has made just 31 appearances for Celtic, including just 16 league starts, since signing for around £1million and slipped further down the pecking order following the January loan arrival Jeremy Toljan.

Celtic are in the market for a new right-back this summer as Toljan is expected to return to Borussia Dortmund and Mikael Lustig is out of contract next month.
