Harry Kane's hat trick saw Tottenham continue their perfect start in the Champions League with victory over Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday.

The English striker's 'perfect' treble, scored with his left foot, his right foot and a header, means that they are level on points with Real Madrid in group H, and six points clear of Borussia Dortmund and Apoel.

However, the convincing scoreline masks an unconvincing performance from Mauricio Pochettino's men, with a number of sub par performances, particularly in the first half, from his players.

They allowed the Cypriot side too many chances to test goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, and were unlucky not to take the lead when a shot cannoned off the crossbar after some poor defending from Spurs.

The Lilywhites return to action on Saturday against Huddersfield in the Premier League, but there are some names that should not remain in the starting XI.

Here, Football Insider names three players who need to be axed for the clash against the Terriers, including one man who put in one of his best performances in a Spurs shirt against the Cypriot side.

Heung-min Son

The South Korean striker has become a favourite of Spurs fans with his enthusiastic performances on the pitch, but it should not hide the fact he has lacked an end product this season.

In seven appearances he is yet to score, with just one assist to his name, and his inability to finish off chances, despite finding himself in the final third more often than not, is hurting the side.

It is a far cry from the man who scored 21 goals last season.

He is lucky that Harry Kane is in such prolific form, while the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen take charge of providing the assists, but after Tuesday's performance, it is time for change.

Davinson Sanchez

Pochettino named a back three of Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies and Davinson Sanchez on Tuesday, and it was the latter who was a weak link .

The summer signing was not at the races as he made a series of errors, including a slip and then a poorly executed tackle which led to Apoel striking the crossbar.

He looked slow in possession, having been caught on the ball once or twice by the Cypriot side's players, while he was also beaten by a lack of pace.

In all honesty the back three did not work for Tottenham, and Pochettino should consider reverting to a back four against Huddersfield.

If that were the case, then Sanchez deserves to be axed, with Jan Vertonghen, suspended for the Champions League tie, returning in his place.

Moussa Sissoko

It speaks volumes about the injury crisis at Spurs that Moussa Sissoko, branded a flop last season and looking to leave over the summer, has appeared in every one of Tottenham's games this season.

It also speaks volumes about the performance of Harry Winks on Tuesday that it can be suggested Sissoko gets dropped against Huddersfield, after arguably the French international's best game in a Tottenham shirt.

However the 21-year-old was outstanding in Cyprus, and it would be incredibly harsh if he were to lose his place in the starting XI against Huddersfield.

With Christian Eriksen likely to have recovered from illness and Dele Alli returning from suspension, which kept the duo out of Tuesday's game, there are going to be some disappointed faces come Saturday's team announcement.
