Daniel Levy deserves "huge credit" for his role in keeping Harry Kane at Tottenham.

So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Kane confirmed he would stay at Spurs this summer.

Bu the striker, who is under contract until 2024, tweeted on 25 August that he would now be staying in North London.

Levy has refused to budge on his valuation of the England skipper all summer amid persistent interest from Man City.

As quoted by The Sun on 27 August, City boss Guardiola labelled Levy a "master of negotiation."

And Maguire insists that the Spurs supremo should be given his dues for successfully fending off City's approaches.

"He will feel vindicated," he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams

"He has seen it happen with other clubs. I don't like some of the passive-aggressive anti-semitic remarks aimed at Daniel Levy.

"He's well-paid at what he does and very good at what he does. He should be given huge credit for running the club successfully.

"He will see it as a victory. Let's not forget he owns about 20 per cent of the club himself.

"Ultimately, it's a business. If your focus is on the business side of things, a lot of credit has to be given to those in charge.

"It's about striking a balance between sporting success and financial management."
