Tottenham full-back may exit in summer, manager will decide in two weeks (not Rose or Aurier)
Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed that Tottenham defender Anton Walkes will miss the rest of the season with an injury, but he will still consider plotting a summer swoop for the Pompey loan star.
Walkes, 21, was sent to Fratton Park on on a temporary basis in the January transfer window but he will now spend the rest of the campaign on the sidelines before Portsmouth consider whether making an approach for him in the upcoming transfer window.
The full-back has been in impressive form for the League One club, appearing 12 times in all competitions before his injury while scoring one goal, which came on his debut against Doncaster Rovers.
Now, Pompey boss Jackett has confirmed that a summer swoop for Walkes is a possibility and he will decide in two weeks time whether to pursue the 21-year-old.
"Unfortunately the injury has ended his season, even so he has built on his arrival quite well showing good versatility," he said, as quoted by The News.
"We will have to see (about signing him) in the summer. In two weeks we will have to see.
"We just have to finish our season strongly, there hasn’t been anything discussed yet.
"There’s no set fee, nothing has been approached yet or done. Anton has done well since he has been here so we’ll see what the window brings when it opens."
Walkes is not the only full-back who could leave Spurs this summer with Danny Rose and Serge Aurier also being linked with an exit.
The Mirror has recently reported that Aurier will have doubts cast over his future if Mauricio Pochettino pursues other targets while Rose has been widely linked with Manchester United.

Walkes will probably never make it into the Spurs first-team so if there's a time to move him on, then it's definitely going to be this summer after a successful loan spell will have bumped up his value. Portsmouth certainly seem keen on the 21-year-old but there would surely be Championship teams that are interested in him if Pochettino decides to cash in. He may just exit Spurs in the summer with Pochettino so reliant on his full-backs and Walkes not really having the characteristics of say Kieran Trippier or Aurier.
