Tottenham will bank over £1million when they play host to the Challenge Cup final on 28 May.

So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Spurs confirmed the news on 12 August.

Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy told the club's official website that he was "delighted to bring yet another major sporting event to our stadium."

The Challenge Cup final, English Rugby League's showpiece game, is traditionally held at Wembley.

Spurs will also host Anthony Joshua's next fight in September followed by two back-to-back NFL games in October.

Maguire claimed Spurs will rake in at least seven figures each time from these non-football events.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: "It will be a good earner for Tottenham. I think they will potentially sell out.

I have been to the Challenge Cup final at Old Trafford. It was a rollicking experience, but you know what catering is like at Old Trafford. It's appalling.

"Spurs don't have that problem. They are very good at extracting cash from people while they are there. The Processes and procedures are about as up to date as they can be.

"They normally get over £800,00 per match from catering alone, but for a big, big final, they could probably get more. We're talking seven figures.

"It has become the go-to place and Spurs have become very attractive. It won't just benefit Spurs, it will benefit all of the surrounding areas too."
