BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus has slammed Rangers star Alfredo Morelos after his selfish shot at goal in the final stages of his side's 2-2 draw with Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday afternoon.

Morelos, 22, had the perfect chance to drive the ball across into the box and try to find a team-mate but instead he decided to have a shot at goal from a terribly tight angle.

The Light Blues had to come from two goals behind to earn a point and prevent themselves from losing three games in-a-row.

James Tavernier and Jamie Murphy were on target just after half-time to earn the point but fans will be wondering what could have been if Morelos decided to be more of a team player in the final moments.

Former Hibernian striker McManus was quick to blast the in-demand striker on his personal Twitter account.

"Morelos so selfish unbelievably bad play," he said.

Football Insider verdict

Morelos has been out of form ever since the winter break, with just three league goals in the last three months. Jason Cummings must be wondering about whether he should deserve an extended run in the starting line-up after watching the Colombian screw up yet another glorious chance. The bids made for Morelos in January and February from China may have played a part in his dip in form and Graeme Murty must ensure that he turns it around in the final couple of months of the campaign. If he doesn't they will surely struggle to convince teams to make big bids for him once again.
