Queens Park Rangers star and Rangers target Bright Osayi-Samuel is the radar of a number of Premier League clubs, according to Noel Whelan.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Dunfermline and Aberdeen forward outlined his views on the in-demand wide attacker.

Osayi-Samuel is on the radar of Rangers and multiple other clubs after rejecting a new contract from QPR and with his future unresolved ahead of his current deal expiring next summer.

The 22-year-old has arguably been QPR's player of the season so far, despite the rumours regarding his future.

Osayi-Samuel is capable of playing on either flank, meaning he would provide healthy competition for the likes of Ryan Kent and in-form Kemar Roofe.

Asked by Football Insider if Rangers will face much competition for Osayi-Samuel's signature, Whelan said:

"Premier League clubs will be looking. I think Leeds United were interested a season ago. He's one of these players who plays the wing-back role, he's got energy, he scored goals, he's got pace

"They won't be the only club that'll be pecking away and trying to get something done in the January window for a pre-contract.

"There'll be stiff competition, I'm sure, from other clubs."

Rangers currently lead the Scottish Premier League by 16 points and have just landed a near-£7million jackpot ahead of January.
