McAvennie: '100mph' Sakala 'doesn't look right' after Rangers latest
Fashion Sakala must mind form for Rangers or he risks becoming a regular substitute.
That’s according to former Celtic hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the forward.
Sakala joined Rangers this summer after leaving KV Oostende upon the expiration of his contract.
He has so far scored one goal in 10 outings for the Gers, bagging in last month’s 1-1 draw with Motherwell.
The forward, who has been described as a “100mph” player by Football Insider columnist Alan Hutton, led the line against Sparta Prague last week but failed to make an impact.
He was dropped to the bench for Sunday’s 2-1 win over Hibernian with Alfredo Morelos brought back into the fold.

McAvennie claims Sakala will spend more time on the bench if he doesn’t start to impress when given a chance by Steven Gerrard.
“Rangers just can’t let him [Morelos] go,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Morelos has proved that time and time again. The new boy [Sakala] isn’t doing it.
“Morelos comes in every week, whenever they need him to and he scores.
“Rangers will try to keep him until they find someone who can score the same amount of goals as him.
“Sakala doesn’t look right to me. He hasn’t settled. He needs to find some form, quickly.”
Morelos scored the winning goal as the Gers went top of the Scottish Premiership with their 2-1 win over Hibs.
Kemar Roofe brought his side level after an early Hibs goal knocked Rangers off their stride.
