McAvennie explains why Juranovic is a 'brilliant' Celtic signing
Frank McAvennie is delighted Celtic have signed another right back in the form of Josip Juranovic.
The Parkhead icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the defender can help Anthony Ralston.
Celtic announced they had agreed a deal for Juranovic, subject to conditions, on Saturday (21 August).
He leaves Legia Warsaw to join Ange Postecoglou’s side and he should be ready to play immediately.
The defender has made 10 competitive appearances this season and scored a screamer on his final appearance for Legia last week.
McAvennie insists Juranovic’s arrival will be a boost to Ralston, the sole right back in the first team.

“I’ve been saying for ages, Ralston needs help,” McAvennie told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“He’s had a good start to the season but that’s all we’ve seen of him really.
“He’s been in the team for six years and not really done it up until now.
“Don’t get me wrong, he’s been excellent and I hope it continues but I think he might struggle up against better opposition.
“I think I said a few weeks ago that a new right-back would be brilliant, I’m glad we’re finally talking about Juranovic signing.
“Some help for him would be fantastic because he’s the only right-sided defender at the club.
“It makes sense from a practical point of view if nothing else. We need that depth.
“The same goes for whoever comes in, do your best, don’t bottle challenges and you should be alright.”
Ralston has had an outstanding start to the season, scoring two goals in eight games.
It remains to be seen whether he will lose his place to Celtic’s new signing.
