McAvennie: Celtic loanee Ntcham must look in the mirror after latest humiliation in French press
Olivier Ntcham has no-one to blame but himself for his struggles at Celtic and Marseille.
That is according to Parkhead legend Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 25-year-old and his wasted talent.
Ntcham joined Marseille on loan in January but he has rarely been played and has just 161 minutes of first team action to his name so far.
To rub salt into his wounds, the centre-midfielder was humiliated in the French press after Marseille were knocked out of the French Cup by four-tier side Canet Roussillon on Sunday.
As reported by the Daily Record, he was awarded a 1/10 rating from local paper La Provence for his performance.
When asked for his assessment of Ntcham’s future, McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs: “I do not know what is the matter with the boy.

“What a talent he is. What a talent, but he is not doing it.
“He will start blaming other people and start blaming everyone but himself. But, you cannot blame anyone other than yourself for your demise at Celtic.
“A lot of the players are going to blame others for the way things have panned out but it is their fault. It was Ntcham’s fault he did not succeed at Celtic, no others.
“It has not helped him going over to Marseille and Andre Villa-Boas not wanting him. How is that for you confidence pal?”
