McAvennie claims Palma won't last long at Celtic - 'he will move on'
Luis Palma will not see out the duration of his contract at Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Hoops striker Frank McAvennie insisted Palma is a "wonderful talent" and suggested he will be at Parkhead for the next few seasons before moving on to something bigger.
Last week (30 August), Celtic confirmed that the 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
The attacker was heavily linked with a move to Glasgow rivals Rangers earlier in the window but ultimately chose the east end as his preferred destination.
The Honduras international was named on the bench for Sunday's (3 September) derby clash against the Gers but was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win.
McAvennie is excited to see what Palma can do in a Celtic shirt.
"I like Palma, I think he is a wonderful talent and Brendan Rodgers is a really good coach so he will be able to get the best out of him," he told Football Insider.
"Palma is a wonderful talent and I think he could maybe shine there.
"He is one of these players that we will get three or four years out of him, and then he will move on."
Palma joins defenders Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke; midfielders Odin Thiago Holm and Hyeok- kyu Kwon and fellow attackers Hyun-jun Yang and Marco Tilio who joined the Hoops permanently this summer.
The Celts also agreed deals for Liverpool defender Nat Phillips to join on loan until January and Benfica midfielder on a loan deal with an option to buy.
