McAvennie: Ten Celtic stars will quit and five will go for 'serious money'
Celtic have just under two months to sell and replace at least 10 senior players, according to Frank McAvennie.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops hitman insists Celtic have to get to work on overhauling their squad.
The Hoops’ 2021/22 season starts with July’s Champions League second qualifying round.
With those games less than two months away, Celtic are yet to appoint a new manager and the futures of several stars are up in the air.
It is understood Odsonne Edouard is one star who has asked to leave this summer.
McAvennie claims the club need to get started on their summer overhaul as soon as possible.

“Celtic need to sell 10 players between now and then,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Looking at the squad, I think at least 10 need to go, and will go. That’s a big gap in the squad that needs filling.
“The loan players will go back. I can see them getting serious money for four or five players.
“That money will go into the kitty, the new manager has to have that but he doesn’t have a lot of time to spend it.
“Even if the new guy came in a few weeks ago it’s not a lot of time. I have no idea how that Celtic squad will look by the time those games come around.”
Celtic crashed out of the Champions League during last season’s qualifying rounds before failing to make the knockout rounds of the Europa League.
July’s games should be the new Celtic boss’ first competitive games in charge of their new club.
In the latest news, Celtic have been told to sign EFL dazzler after he handed in transfer request.
