McDonald passes Leeds United medical after six-figure accepted - sources
Hamilton Academical sensation Josh McDonald has finalised a move to Leeds United with an announcement expected soon, sources have told Football Insider.
The 16-year-old has completed all medical tests and other formalities were wrapped up in a meeting on Friday (12 May).
Leeds will pay £150,000 for McDonald after Scottish Championship side Hamilton accepted a bid earlier this month.
The midfielder will pen an initial scholarship deal at Elland Road, with professional terms becoming active when he turns 17 next March.
Sources have told Football Insider that McDonald is an “exceptional talent” who is one of the best in his age group in Scotland.
That belief is reinforced by the teenager’s three caps at Under-16 level for Scotland.

It is believed that Rangers also made an offer to McDonald, but Premier League strugglers Leeds have won the race and will bring him south of the border.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (4 May) that a number of English top-flight and Championship clubs have been monitoring the midfielder and have sent scouts to watch him in action.
Leeds have also been eyeing other Scottish talents ahead of the summer window.
