McManus issues 'huge' Callum McGregor claim as Celtic images emerge
Celtic are set for a “huge boost” with Callum McGregor likely to be at full fitness for the resumption of the domestic season.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Hoops captain’s upcoming return.
McGregor has not played for Celtic since coming off injured in 5 October’s loss to RB Leipzig.
As shown in images shared by PLZ Soccer (16 November), the 29-year-old returned to training on Wednesday (16 November) as the Green and Whites touched down in Sydney for their friendly tournament.
Speaking to club media (16 November), McGregor said that he would be joining in a few training sessions throughout the trip as he works on his rehabilitation.
McManus insists Celtic have missed their captain even if that hasn’t been reflected in their results,

“He is the heart and soul at Celtic,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“He took over from an iconic captain in Scott Brown and they are both different players with different talents but Callum leads more by example.
“He is so consistent in his performances, he is an eight out of 10 every single week. A terrific footballer and they have missed him.
“It hasn’t shown in the results but they have missed him in the mile of the pitch.
“Seeing him back training must be amazing, Celtic fans were worried he would be out for the season.
“It looks like he will be back for the second half of the season and that is nothing but a huge boost to Celtic when they are already looking really good.”
