Medical on Monday: Tottenham agree eight-figure fee with PL club for 24-year-old - Telegraph

Tottenham defender Kevin Wimmer will undergo a medical at Premier League outfit Stoke on Monday after the two sides agreed an eight-figure deal for the centre-back, according to a report.
The Telegraph have claimed on their website that the 24-year-old Austria international is making the trip up to the Midlands after Stoke agreed a fee thought to be worth up to £15million.
It is also said that Mark Hughes’ side are expecting to officially complete the signing of Wimmer in the next 24 hours after they were held to a 1-1 draw on Sunday away at West Bromwich Albion.
Tottenham themselves suffered the same fate on Sunday as a late Chris Wood goal cancelled out a Dele Alli effort at Wembley.
Wimmer was not part of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad with the Argentine selecting new signing Davinso Sanchez ahead of him.

The Austrian’s last appearance in a Spurs shirt also came as far back as Ferbuary, ironically in a 4-0 victory over Stoke and it looks as though his future is lying elsewhere.
Football Insider verdict:
Wimmer is clearly out of favour at Tottenham and with the signing of Sanchez he has only been pushed further down the pecking order. After the record signing of the youngster from Ajax Wimmer would very much have been considered a waste of wages. Therefore, a move to Stoke makes the most sense for both him and the club. A profit of £11million for Spurs also represents great business for a player signed for £4.3million two summers a go and there doesn’t look to be too many negatives in regards to this deal for the north London outfit.
