Medical today: Cox finalises Brentford move after Aston Villa beaten in race
Matthew Cox is undergoing a Brentford medical today after they beat Aston Villa to his signature, Football Insider understands.
This site revealed on 15 July the Bees had submitted a bid for the AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper.
A Brentford source has told Football Insider the two clubs have now reached an agreement and he will put pen to paper after completing a medical.
Football Insider revealed in June that both Norwich City and Aston Villa were racing to sign the 18-year-old.
He penned professional terms with Wimbledon last summer.
However, Cox is yet to make his senior debut but was named on the bench for 17 League One games last season.
