Medical today: Norwich agree terms of deal after breakthrough - Sources

Hertha Berlin midfielder Ondrej Duda is set to have his medical at Norwich City today ahead of a loan move to Carrow Road, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League strugglers have agreed a deal to take the Slovakian international on a temporary basis until the end of the season after his fall down the pecking order in Germany.

A source at Carrow Road has told Football Insider that the 25-year-old is to undergo his medical today (Saturday, 11 January) after a breakthrough in negotations between the two clubs.

If Duda comes through his medical okay he is set to become Norwich’s first signing of the January transfer window.

The 36-cap international has slipped down the pecking order at Hertha since the arrival of Jurgen Klinsmann as head coach and the club are willing to let him leave on loan.

The 25-year-old has made only seven appearances for Hertha this season and he is keen to get regular first-team football in the second half of the season.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke is understood to be a big admirer of Duda and sees him as someone who can fill the advanced midfield role in his starting XI.

The German manager is keen to make futher signings before the window closes at the end of the month as his squad has been badly hit by injuries in recent weeks.

Norwich are rock bottom of the Premier League table and seven points adrift of safety as they look to pull of a remarkable escape in the second half of the season.

In other Norwich City news, Football Insider can reveal the club have set their sights on snapping up a Belgian attacker this month.
