Medical underway: Tottenham grant permission for Cirkin to head to Sunderland after fee agreed - Sources
Tottenham left-back Dennis Cirkin is undergoing a Sunderland medical this weekend as he completes a permanent move, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.
A Sunderland source has told Football Insider that the club have agreed a six-figure fee with Spurs for Cirkin and he has been given the green light to head to Wearside to complete the formalities of the move.
The youngster will undergo medical tests and put pen to paper on a long-term contract.
He has rejected the offer of a new contract from Tottenham to join the Black Cats.
The Premier League giants are in no doubt the full-back is a major talent and do not want to lose him.

But Cirkin is behind Sergio Reguilon, Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon in the left-back pecking order at Spurs and the prospect of first-team football is a distant one.
At Sunderland, he is expected to slot straight into the team as Lee Johnson’s side begin their bid to secure promotion.
The left-footed teenager was hailed as a rising star by Jose Mourinho when he took over as manager in November 2019.
The Portugese described the youngster in November 2019, via a media conference, as a player with “a lot of quality”.
Cirkin first made the bench for the senior team as a 17-year-old shortly after signing his first professional contract.
His deal is due to expire in 2022 and Spurs had offered him a new long-term deal.
But Cirkin wants to play regularly and believes he has a good chance of doing so at Sunderland.
