Merson: This Tottenham star would help PL rivals push for titles

Outspoken Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson believes Harry Kane is the player Manchester United should be looking at, stating they need to be going for Premier League titles.
The Tottenham star has risen to stardom after making his breakthrough in the 2014-15 campaign and just three years later he is considered one of the best strikers in the world.
He is also tied down to Spurs in a long-term deal taking him up to 2022 with the north London side.
However, former Arsenal man Merson has told that he believed Kane was the man Manchester United would target with a large bid of around £95million.
“I honestly thought Man Utd would have gone for Harry Kane. I thought they would have gone £90m or £100m for him,” told Merson, as quoted by the Sky Sports website.

“I don’t think Man Utd can afford to have a Pogba situation next season where they pay big money for someone and it’s going to take them a season to get into it.
It is clear why Spurs have tied him up to a new deal and the club’s hierarchy will do their utmost to keep a player of his talents.
The north London club are also moving into a new 61,000-seater stadium in the near future, which will help them compete with the likes of Manchester United both on and off the field so that they avoid the same scenarios as they have seen with Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov in the past.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs fans have reacted on Twitter to reported interest in Mamadou Sakho.
