Westwood has been a regular feature for Villa since he joined the club in 2012 from Crewe, but has a number of critics in in the club’s supporters.
The 23-year-old has made 23 appearances this season across all competitions, but has seen his game time restricted since Steve Bruce has taken charge.
He has made 162 appearances during his time with the Midlands giants, but it appears he looks set to join Sean Dyche at Burnley.
Football Insider verdict:
Villa have enjoyed a huge overhaul of players in January and Bruce has been to keen to bolster his midfielder. Henri Lansbury, Birkir Bjarnason and Conor Hourihane have all moved to the Midlands giants in the window and are big improvements on Westwood. Villa have lacked goals from the midfield and that is an area Bruce has been keen to improve. Westwood is a steady player and is reliable in possession, but has always failed to add the extra quality. He is not the type of matchwinner that can guide a team to promotion and Villa have now assembled a squad that can do that.
