Mills: Forster 'love' affair with Celtic could be rekindled after newspaper update
Danny Mills has claimed Fraser Forster would “love” to return to Celtic this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England full-back tipped a deal to be completed if the Hoops can offer a “reasonable deal”.
The Scottish Sun‘s Alan Nixon reported on 17 July Celtic want to bring the goalkeeper back to Parkhead on a loan deal.
The same outlet reported on 22 July he has rejected a new Southampton contract with his current deal set to expire in 12 months.
Forster spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan with Celtic – his fourth spell at the club.
Football Insider revealed in January his Hoops teammates were shocked that he did not return last season.

Instead, he opted to stay at Southampton and try to win a regular place in the starting XI but managed just eight Premier League appearances last term.
“I’m sure he just wants to play football right now,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He’s getting to that stage of his career where he’s had a good career, got the money in the bank and now he wants to play.
“The best thing about being a footballer is that it is enjoyable and it’s great fun so keep enjoying it for as long as you can.
“He’s probably at the stage where he wants to just play week in, week out. He’s not going to play for nothing because it’s your job. You don’t just play for the love of the game, it’s difficult to do that.
“But as long as it’s a reasonable deal for him, I’m sure he’d love to go back up there and be first-choice.”
Forster is still a popular figure among Celtic supporters after keeping an outstanding 118 clean sheets in 236 appearances across all competitions.
