Mills: Leeds tipped to accept £40m Raphinha bid amid Liverpool reveal today

Danny Mills has claimed Leeds United could accept a £40million bid for .

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Whites and England defender suggested the “talented” winger will stay at Elland Road for at least another season before a bigger club takes a gamble on him.

Football Insider revealed on February 6 that Liverpool were keeping tabs on Raphinha and scouts had been left “blown away”.

A Liverpool source has told Football Insider today that the club’s interest in Raphinha is strong and they are weighing up a move.

The 24-year-old addressed a potential move in an interview with Brazilian outlet UOL Sport as he insisted he is happy at Leeds and has not thought above a move away.

However, he also revealed he is in regular text contact with Liverpool forward and his “great friend” Roberto Firmino.

When asked whether Leeds will be able to keep hold of Raphinha this summer, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “People will be looking at him, without a doubt.

“He’s clearly talented but they might just give him another season to see what he does.

“I’m not too sure where he’ll be. There will be teams looking at him but they might just wait rather than gamble.

“It’s going to be big money, big, big money to get him out of Leeds. Teams might be prepared to wait.

“What’s he going to cost? £40-£50million. Leeds could accept £40m. That’s a big gamble.”

Raphinha ended the season with six goals and nine assists in 30 Premier League games, including 26 starts.

He joined Leeds from Ligue 1 side Rennes on deadline day last October for a reported £17million fee.
