Mills: Rangers tipped to accept £9m Morelos bid after reveal

Danny Mills has tipped Rangers to accept a £9million bid plus add-ons for Alfredo Morelos.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England and Premier League defender insisted Morelos would represent extremely good value at that price.

The Portuegese giants had been in contact with the Gers over a potential deal for the Colombian.

Morelos' current contract expires in two years time and talks over an extension have yet to get off the ground.

Asked whether the 25-year-old will attract more interest if he is available for £13million, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: "It's not a huge figure for somebody who can score your goals, somebody who's got real quality and will be a pain in the backside at times.

"If they're setting the price of £13million, you may get him for £9million plus a couple of add-ons.

"It's pretty cheap in this day and age, realistically. There's not a huge amount of risk in that.

"If you get 18 decent months out of him at that price then you've got your money's worth.

"He's a very good goalscorer, so there's no reason why he can't make that step across."

Morelos has scored 94 goals and provided 43 assists in 182 games across his four-year spell at Ibrox.

He became the club's record goalscorer in European competitions last season and now has 23 strikes in the Europa League for the Gers.
