Mills: There's only one word to describe West Brom after what I've seen in person

Danny Mills has claimed West Brom are “frantic” and “not good enough” if they want to win promotion from the Championship.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League and England defender delivered his verdict after covering West Brom’s 0-0 draw with Blackpool in person for talkSPORT.

Valerien Ismael‘s side followed up their goalless draw at Bloomfield Road with another 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest on Friday.

They have not found the net in their last three Championship games and are without a win in their last four league fixtures.

“They are frantic, that’s the only word to describe it,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I’m not quite sure there’s method to that a lot of time. It’s more about ‘Let’s just run’. There’s not too much organisation to it. Sometimes players go on their own, sometimes they go together, sometimes they get picked off.

“They are high energy but they certainly need more of a plan, more of an idea when they get the ball.

“I think they created 18 chances and had two shots on goal against Blackpool, it’s not good enough.

“They’ve got some good players and they’ve got players that work incredibly hard but you’ve got to have a structure and organisation within that. If not, you’re going to struggle.

“That comes from the manager, definitely. I’ve seen them three times now this season and it is very sporadic in the way that they play.”

Draws for Fulham and Bournemouth on Saturday mean West Brom remain eight points behind the automatic places in third.

They travel to fifth-place Coventry City next weekend.

In other news, Ismael has given the green light for West Brom to let a 27-year-old leave in January.
