Danny Mills has tipped Marcelo Bielsa to take advantage of his Pep Guardiola connection to bring another Man City player to Leeds United in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-United and England defender believes Bielsa can recruit a rising star from the ranks of the City squad.

Mills explained Bielsa will want be on the look out for a forward who is “incredibly fit” and has a “fabulous work ethic” as he looks for possible Eddie Nketiah replacements.

Asked about prospective Leeds transfer business in January, Mills told Football Insider: “Players in Man City reserves, Man City U-23s…because I assume Nketiah will go back to Arsenal. It hasn’t worked out for Arsenal, hasn’t been benefittical for Arsenal or Nketiah, so you have to replace him.

“Bielsa will want someone who can come in and hit the ground running, so someone incredibly fit, fabulous work ethic, you’re not going to get a top striker and Leeds won’t pay the money for that, in terms of wages, so you will have to go for someone younger.

“I’d be ringing Pep, he knows him very well, who can you get as back-up? Who can you get
from the U-23s? Who can he (Guardiola) use, give experience to, give game time to?”

Nketiah joined Leeds in the summer on a season-long loan from Arsenal.

But the striker has yet to start a league match for the Yorkshire giants and the Premier League club can activate a recall clause in his contract next month.

In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that there has been a huge Jack Clarke transfer development.
