Mohamed Salah handed 'great' contract news after Liverpool confirmation - pundit
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool renewal provides a “great incentive” for the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino to commit to new contracts.
That is according to former Scotland manager Alex McLeish, who was speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “brilliant bond” between the German and his players.
Liverpool confirmed last week (28 April) that Klopp will remain at Anfield until 2026.
Attention can now turn to the forward trio of Salah, Mane, and Firmino – who are all out of contract next summer (2023).
Football Insider revealed last month (17 April) that Liverpool are planning to offer Mane a new contract – but will not break the bank to keep him.
This site also revealed (9 April) that the Reds are close to a breakthrough in talks with Salah.

McLeish suggested Klopp’s renewal could play a pivotal role in getting Liverpool’s stars to sign on the dotted line.
He told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge: “The players obviously have a brilliant bond with Klopp, they love him.
“You see the pictures after games, hugging him and things.
“I do believe that Klopp signing is now a great incentive for the likes of Salah, Mane, and Firmino to sign a new deal.
“That being said, if these players have made up their minds that they’d like to try a new challenge – then that’s the only way I can see them leaving Liverpool.”
Liverpool still have an outside chance of sealing a historic quadruple this season.
The Merseysiders set up a Champions League final against Real Madrid later this month after dispatching Villareal on Tuesday (3 May).
