Mohamed Salah is the ringleader as Liverpool ‘dressing room’ turns on Arne Slot
Mohamed Salah has done little to ease the scrutiny on Liverpool manager Arne Slot after his latest outburst.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, after Salah criticised Slot’s style of play.
The forward said the Reds need to return to being a “heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear” following a 12th Premier League loss of the season at Aston Villa.
It was not the first time Salah had spoken out against Slot this season, after the Egyptian claimed he had no relationship with the Dutchman following a draw at Leeds in December.
Salah has confirmed he will leave Anfield at the end of the season, whilst Slot is expected to remain as Liverpool manager despite pressure over his position.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – states there could be disharmony in the Liverpool dressing room.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes that Slot doesn’t have the same motivational skills as his predecessor Jurgen Klopp.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Salah’s been the thorn in Arne Slot’s side all the way through and there’s obviously talk in the dressing room that they aren’t happy with Arne Slot.
“It’s more a nod to Klopp, isn’t it? Salah used the words about heavy metal football, which Klopp was synonymous with. It’s obviously a dig at Arne Slot and the style of play that he’s asking, and the spirit and the atmosphere he’s creating in the dressing room.
“Slot doesn’t feel to me that he is a motivator in the same way that Klopp was and that’s what they’re getting at is that there isn’t that spirit and energy that’s been generated by the manager and coming from the manager.
“That’s what he’s getting at, and that’s what’s been clear with Liverpool. They have not been the Liverpool of the previous seasons at all.”
Bundesliga stars could replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Salah’s outburst will have little effect on Slot’s future at Anfield.
Slot is set to rebuild his Liverpool squad this summer, with Andy Robertson also leaving the club at the end of the season alongside Salah.
Replacements are already being lined up when Salah leaves, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande one of their top targets.
RB Leipzig team-mate Antonio Nusa could also be an option, whilst Liverpool look to have missed out on signing Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon as a move to Bayern Munich edges closer.
