Liverpool will have to wait and see what the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign has in store for them before being able to finalise their summer transfer window plans. However, one major piece of news that has emerged during the March international break is that Mohamed Salah is leaving Anfield at the end of this season.

Arne Slot’s men are struggling in the Premier League and there’s a real possibility they miss out on qualifying for the Champions League. Elite targets like Yan Diomande and Michael Olise are no doubt less likely to make the move to Anfield if they won’t be able to play in Europe’s top competition, especially when either staying at their current clubs or moving elsewhere will offer them that opportunity. However, Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller is one player the Reds are keeping tabs on, and a deal could be struck. Football Insider expert Pete O’Rourke revealed that Stuttgart will accept a bid in the region of £50-60million to sanction a sale.

Yan Diomande – Liverpool’s heir for Mohamed Salah?

Liverpool announced on 24 March that Salah will be leaving the club at the end of the 2025-26 season. Last year, the Egypt international was strongly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League before signing a new two-year contract, which, unfortunately, he won’t be seeing through until the end.

Following his move to RB Leipzig last summer, Diomande has statistically surpassed almost every elite winger in his age bracket. As of spring 2026, his output from the right flank makes him the undeniable frontrunner to step into the “Salah Role.”

And who else could leave Anfield?

Andrew Robertson will leave Anfield this summer at the end of his contract, while Ibrahima Konate’s deal runs out in June but talks are reportedly set to be held over new terms. Second-choice goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili has also been linked with a move away from Liverpool, however, Football Insider’s latest understanding of that situation is that the club won’t entertain any offers for the Georgian shot-stopper with Alisson Becker’s future yet to be properly clarified.
