No Everton plans to replace David Moyes just yet
Everton have entered a period of stability, largely due to The Friedkin Group’s impressive first year as owners of the Merseyside club, but also because of the incredible improvement on the pitch since David Moyes’ return. Despite the last few years being a period of major change at Everton, including the move from Goodison Park to Hill Dickinson Stadium, there have been improvements in just about every quarter, and with the Toffees now pushing for a return to European football, Moyes’ job is arguably one of the safest in England. However, the 62-year-old’s contract with the Blues does expire at the end of next season, meaning that there’ll no doubt be someone higher-up looking at potential replacements in the future. However, Football Insider expert Mick Brown revealed Everton are ready to offer Moyes a new contract.

Sir Gareth Southgate remains available after leaving the England post in 2024. Should he look to return to management, joining a historic, big club like Everton would seem to be a good fit. Lee Carsley cannot be ruled out either due to his Everton connections and the fact that he has been linked with some club managers’ roles within the last 12 months. Jose Mourinho worked for The Friedkin Group at Roma and would no doubt be a big-name arrival that could continue to show Everton into a new era. However, he’s currently at Benfica, and it remains to be seen what kind of availability he’d have should Moyes need replacing.
