Michael Carrick shares Benjamin Sesko injury news

Benjamin Sesko missed Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday with a shin injury he picked up against Liverpool. Sesko crashed into the advertising boards in that derby day victory. Michael Carrick confirmed ahead of the Wearside stalemate that Sesko is “managing” the injury to his shin, but didn’t put a timescale on his return to the side. That means that the Slovenian striker’s place in the squad against Nottingham Forest is currently in doubt.

Carrick also drops Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte news

Also missing against Sunderland were Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte. Carrick didn’t specify what the issue with Casemiro was, but he did confirm that his setback was “nothing major” and he’s expected to return against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Sunday. Ugate has had a back injury in recent days, so it’s unclear on whetehr he’ll be ready to face Forest. Matthjis de Ligt is also sidelined with a back injury and he might not play again this season.
