Arsenal Managerial Situation
Coaching Staff News, Arteta Updates & Successor Shortlists

Arsenal are on the cusp of history. With just three Premier League matches left to play, the title race is in their hands despite a grim April that saw the Gunners lose to Bournemouth and Manchester City. City have since dropped points, making Mikel Arteta the firm favourite to get his hands on the trophy come the end of the campaign. On top of that, Arteta has led Arsenal to their second-ever Champions League final with an impressive semi-final victory against Atletico Madrid over two legs.

However, despite the impressive campaign, there’s still a chance that Arsenal walk away from it empty-handed, and there’s been regular talk of a change of manager whenever Arteta has slipped up this term.

Simone Inzaghi favourite to be next Arsenal manager

It’s hard to come by open betting markets on who could replace Arteta and be hired as the next Arsenal manager. However, recent suggestions show that Simone Inzaghi is the 5/1 favourite to take charge should the Gunners board dismiss Arteta. Massimiliano Allegri (6/1), Antonio Conte (8/1) and Diego Simeone (10/1) are also in the running.

Inzaghi is currently in charge of Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, who he joined in June 2025. He’s previously managed Lazio (2016-21) and Inter Milan (2021-25), showing that in an age where managers change like the weather, the Italian is able to hold down a job at a big club.

Inzaghi’s silverware:

There’s no doubt that the 50-year-old’s biggest achievement in management so far is winning the 2023-24 Serie A title with Inter Milan. However, while at the San Siro, the former Italy striker also took Inter to two Champions League finals in 2022-23 and 2024-25. Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, respectively, won each of those finals.
