RANGERS FINANCE:
Transfer Budget, Boardroom & 49ers Enterprise Updates

Rangers reported a transformative £94.1million revenue for the 2024-25 financial year, marking a seven per cent increase and shattering the club’s previous turnover record. This financial surge follows the landmark May 2025 takeover by a US-based consortium led by 49ers Enterprises and healthcare tycoon Andrew Cavenagh, who secured a 51 per cent majority stake via Rangers FC LLC. The deal, which initially installed Paraag Marathe as vice-chairman before his departure in February 2026, was underpinned by an immediate £20m capital injection. The hope is now the board can fund an aggressive 2026 summer transfer budget for head coach Danny Rohl.

Figures based on official 2024/25 Rangers FC annual reports and the May 2025 49ers Enterprises/Cavenagh majority takeover deal.

While the latest 2024/25 accounts showed a £14.8m net loss due to player amortisation, the club achieved a rare £2.7m pre-player trading profit. With a £30.5m closing cash balance and several major player sales set to be realised in the 2025-26 accounts, the Light Blues are positioned to leverage the 49ers’ sporting expertise to challenge Celtic and establish a permanent presence in elite European competition.

It was announced in April 2026 that Rangers are looking to raise another £16m in the form of a share issue, while Football Insider expert Keith Wyness says fans will have to contribute to further investment in the form of increased ticket prices.
