Dembele delivers amusing Twitter response to Sutton claim about Rangers

By Danny Wright

Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has delivered an amusing response to Chris Sutton’s Twitter message about Rangers chances of making a comeback in their 5-1 loss at Ibrox on Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers’ side were 4-0 up when Kenny Miller scored a consolation goal in the 81st minute of the game.

Sutton, a former Hoops striker, joked on his personal Twitter account that the Light Blues were “back in it” despite the away side’s mammoth lead.

Dembele, 20, replied on his account saying: “Back in?” followed by a series of thinking and laughing emojis.

The ex-Fulham striker took no part in the Old Firm derby as he is currently sidelined with an injury.

However that didn’t stop Celtic from getting their second 5-1 thrashing of Rangers this season.

Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths scored in the first half before Callum McGregor, Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig rounded off the rout.

There have been six Old Firm derbies this season, with the Bhoys coming out on top in all but one.

Celtic booked their place in the Scottish Cup final by beating Pedro Caixinha’s side at Hampden Park last week and if they can beat Aberdeen next month, they will complete a domestic treble.

Rodgers’ men have four games to play in the Scottish Premiership and have kept their hopes of an unbeaten campaign alive with their latest win.

In other Celtic news, Robbie Savage has destroyed Sutton for his analysis of the Old Firm derby.
