Robbie Savage destroys Chris Sutton over his analysis of Celtic win against Rangers
By Harvey Byrne
Outspoken football pundit and former midfielder Robbie Savage has hit back at his BT Sport colleague Chris Sutton after his analysis of Celtic’s win against Rangers on Saturday.
The Bhoys ran out a massive 5-1 scoreline over the Gers earlier in the afternoon at Ibrox with goals coming from each of Scott Sinclair, Leigh Griffiths, Callum McGregor, Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig in the victory.
Many were keen to hail the Celtic team and individual players for their commanding display, but former Hoops star Sutton seemed more interested in taking swipes at Rangers.
The retired striker labelled Rangers a “pub team” while appearing on BT Sport after the match and he also took to Twitter to label the Gers display “utter shambolic.”
Now, Savage, who has also previously had spats with Sutton about his constant talking about Rangers has looked to destroy him once more, claiming he’s “like a broken record” when it comes to talking about the Ibrox club.

“What will happen though, if Spurs win, what JJ (Jermaine Jenas) won’t do is go on for about half an hour about how poor Arsenal are, like he’s (Sutton) done about Rangers,” started Savage speaking on BT Sport on Saturday afternoon.
“Celtic have just hammered Rangers 5-1 and he’s hammered Rangers for the last half hour.”
Sutton then replied: “So are you making a case for Rangers then,” which Savage responded quickly: “No, I’m not at all, but tell us how well Celtic have done, not how poor Rangers were, that’s all you go on about. All the time. Like a broken record.”
Savage then further went on to say: “His ex-team has just won 5-1. One of the best records at Ibrox and he’s just hammered Rangers for half an hour.”

The Saturday fixture was the sixth time the two Old Firm rivals have met each other this season, with Celtic winning five of them, while also playing out a draw.
There is also a clear 36 points between the two teams in the Premier League table and what is clear is that the Gers need serious improvements if they are to compete with Celtic again.
In other Celtic news, Leigh Griffiths delivered his Twitter verdict after the Hoops’ demolition of Rangers.
