'Pub outfit' - Chris Sutton absolutely destroys Rangers after Celtic hammering
By Harvey Byrne
Former striker and outspoken pundit Chris Sutton has absolutely destroyed the Rangers team on Saturday after their hammering against Celtic, labelling them a “pub outfit.”
The Gers were beaten convincingly at Ibrox in the Old Firm clash with goals from Scott Sinclair, Leigh Griffiths, Callum McGregor, Dedryck Boyata and Mikael Lustig all finiding their way past Wes Foderingham in the Rangers goal.
Furthermore, Rangers managed just one shot on target over the 90 minutes, resulting in a Kenny Miller goal in the 5-1 defeat.
It was a shocking display from Pedro Caixinha’s men in such a big match and Sutton, who is usually not shy with his words towards Rangers ripped into them after their latest humiliation.
“Where’s the director of football at Rangers,” started Sutton speaking on BT Sport on Saturday afternoon.

“How are they going to recruit players in the summer. Their best players this season, Clint Hill, he’s nearly 50, Kenny Miller, he’s late on in his 30’s and (Emerson) Hyndman, he’s going back to Bournemouth.
“It just hasn’t been good enough. They looked like a pub outfit this afternoon. It was really desperately poor from Rangers and things have to change.
“I said last night that for Rangers to lose this game wouldn’t be the worst thing because it emphasises how big the gap is and it’s up to the chairman now to put his money where his mouth is.”
The Celtic win has seen them move 36 points clear of Rangers, while they are also a massive 27 points ahead of Aberdeen in second.
The Hoops have also been able to score an impressive 16 goals past the Gers in their six matches this season, while Caixinha’s team have hit just past the Hoops.
Rangers fans will be hoping for vast improvements in the summer and it is thought that many supporters will agree with Sutton in regards to his comments made towards Dave King.
